Pollo_ Super funky chunky slab of soul. My favourite track keeps changing on every listen. Incredible roster of artists on this album; still sounds fresh 13 years later, go get! Favorite track: Disco-Tech Tribe.

about

The project of bassist, composer and sound producer Kenichi Ikeda debuted in 2009 with his first album, "ROOT SOUL” . This album featured a cover of Free Life's "Spirit Of Love", (better known is the Eddie Palmieri version) which was a club favorite in Japan and overseas, becoming a dance floor anthem with the late Phil Asher's remix released on Especial Records. In 2014 Ikeda released "Destiny replayed by ROOT SOUL," a live version of Shuya Okino's second solo album which was further edited by DJ KAWASAKI and Dimitri From Paris. In 2015 he released "Amplification Pt.1" on Yosuke Tominaga's CHAMP record label, also performing at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL - Crystal Palace that year. In 2019 a new single "That Good Feeling/Always" featuring Erik Rico was released on Ryuhei The Man's AT HOME SOUND label. A new company was founded in 2021 called SUNRISE ECHO and hosted the event “Exchange” in that December at which DJ KOCO aka Shimokita also participated as a DJ. In June 2022, the long-awaited second album "Freaky Power" will be released on Selective Records. Kenichi Ikeda also played on and co-wrote music for KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE's new album "Message From A New Dawn" and played an important role as a programmer in the production of Shuya Okino's solo album and KYOTO JAZZ SEXTET's demos. He is also a key person in the KJM family.
